Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that affects a person’s responsive and interactive behavior. It requires sensitivity and a certain intensity of the traits that affect social development for diagnosis. Autism includes persistent deficits in social communication and interactions.
People who have autism also face difficulties in social and emotional reciprocity and a reduced interest in sharing emotions or feelings and often fail to respond to social interactions. Autistic people often face difficulties in maintaining, developing, or understanding relationships.
There is still so much to learn about what causes ASD, and our understanding of autism’s symptoms and the most effective ways to treat them are constantly changing. This is why there is a significant need for improved autism services in North Georgia. The North Georgia Autism Foundation is the charity we are supporting and strives to connect families with resources, services, and support programs that can help lessen the severity of the symptoms for children on the spectrum, helping each individual reach their full potential and live a more fulfilling life.
